In 1997, Nicola appeared in the drama series 'Wokenwell', produced by Yorkshire Television.
She appeared as Fran Rainford, wife of one of Wokenwell's three policemen.

Fran began the series as a midwife, apparently happily married and content to live in sleepy, small town Wokenwell, somewhere 'Up North'.

A bout of depression following the birth
of her own baby, however, caused Fran
to begin to question her choice of career
- and perhaps home.
